Georg Engel (1866-1931)

Georg Julius Leopold Engel was a best selling author and dramatist during his lifetime who subsequently had books banned by the authorities in Nazi Germany. Two of his works were also made into films during the 1920s. Like Hermann Stehr, he is largely forgotten, and only one of his works has previously been translated: Hann Klüth, der Philosoph (1905), translated as The Philosopher and the Foundling (1932?).
